19 years after its debut, this Dior bag has become today’s most coveted vintage investment.

The Dior Gaucho Bag Back in the Fashion Spotlight

During the Spring-Summer 2026 Fashion Week in Paris, all eyes were on the major debuts of the newly appointed creative directors of some of the most influential fashion houses. Among them was Jonathan Anderson, who presented his very first women’s show for Dior. But the fashion house impressed not only with this new creative direction – it also stood out in the wardrobes of the top models gathered in the capital for the event. Bella Hadid, in particular, was spotted carrying the iconic Gaucho bag from the French brand on her arm.

Dior - 2006

Created as the little brother of the iconic Saddle bag, which made a comeback after its reissue in 2022 under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Gaucho bag continues to captivate. Although it hasn’t been reissued for 19 years, the model remains a highly coveted accessory, especially among vintage enthusiasts and collectors of rare designer pieces. First seen at the Dior Spring-Summer 2006 show, the bag, designed by John Galliano, is a slightly larger version of the iconic Saddle Bag. With its distinctive cowboy-inspired look, it perfectly fits the trend of recent seasons, where the Wild West has served as inspiration for numerous designers and fashion icons, including Bella Hadid. Inspired by a saddle and adorned with a large buckle and aged silver details, the Gaucho bag has all the elements for a triumphant return.

Gisele Bündchen - 2006

Back in 2006, top models had already fallen in love with it. Kate Moss never let go of the bag, and Gisele Bündchen had turned it into one of her favorite off-duty accessories. Before appearing with it in October 2025 in Paris, Bella Hadid had already been spotted with a canvas version of the bag on the streets of New York as early as 2022. Don’t have your Gaucho yet? Don’t worry – numerous vintage models are available, perfect for every style and budget!
