Floral dresses will be everywhere this summer 2024

This season is synonymous with regression! And in the best sense of the word. After witnessing the core obsession, it's the turn of florals to make a remarkable entry on the catwalks of Fashion Week. This summer, they'll be adorning every dress, sparingly or not, for a style that's as bohemian as it is vintage.
Givenchy sublimates a par dress with 90s accents, Balenciaga uses all-over patterns, and Alexander McQueen uses pink on a long flawless gown... Fashion houses and designers are defying the minimalist aesthetic promoted by quiet luxury to fill their collections with all sorts of florals. In the collective imagination, it is not necessarily easy to adopt this floral motif. While this head-to-toe print (seen at Balenciaga and Chanel) is an option this summer, the flower can also adorn a simple garment to create an avant-garde look.

The floral print is in the spirit of cottagecore, a trend that recommends a return to nature in opposition to the folly of modern society. Initially, these bucolic passions reflect slow living - a way to question priorities and establish a connection to the present moment. Celebrities such as Kylie Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski have already succumbed to the trend, taking to the stage in wheat fields, wearing floral dresses and carrying wicker baskets.

The long dress is an essential element of summer. For the boldest, feel free to go for an all-over floral print in bright colours that will up your figure's fashion quotient. Pair it with a pair of impeccable boots and you're set.

From 2023, the slip dress, typical of the 90s, is back. This summer it moves away from its grand soiree look popularised by Gwyneth Paltrow on the red carpet to wear a casual version embellished with a delicate, subtle floral print.

Summer means bare-back dresses! Kendall Jenner has figured this out, offering a modern silhouette with a delicately pleated dress in a monochrome floral print.
