On Saturday, November 4, Gucci presented its first eveningwear collection. Gucci's new creative director, Sabato de Sarno, created the collection, titled "Ancora Notte".

The event featured chic dresses, two-piece sets, Jackie 1961's new mini shoulder bags and gold accessories. The clothes debuted at the LACMA Art + Film 2023 gala at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Guests were treated to an intimate performance by Lenny Kravitz and appearances by other stars such as A$AP Rocky and Julia Garner.

The clothes stood beautifully on models such as Abbey Lee, Nyajuok Gatdet, Mariacarla Boscono, Vittoria Ceretti, Fadia Ghaab, Jiahui Zhang, Violet Hume and Kirsty Hume. An asymmetrical silhouette could be found in some of the eveningwear designs, while others were embellished with rhinestones that were inspired by the 1950s clogs from the Gucci archives. Hooded collars and plunging V-necks also appeared, an ode to the 90s.

Earlier this year, Gucci announced De Sarno as the brand's new creative director. The 39-year-old De Sarno, a native of Naples, Italy, has had an impressive career that includes roles at fashion giants such as Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and, most recently, Valentino, where for 13 years he was an indispensable collaborator to Pierpaolo Piccioli, contributing to a more commercial contemporary aesthetic.
