The world's luxury brands are gearing up for Christmas with a panettone cake with gold icing.
The sweet Italian fruit cake is usually eaten during the festive season, unwrapped at Christmas and New Year and enjoyed around the world.
Moschino and Martesana prepare a luxury version of panettone, creating "Il panettone d'oro", which is the first in the industry. Martesana founder and head pastry chef Vincenzo Santoro bakes the one-pound pastry with IGP Piedmont hazelnuts and a glossy golden coating, which comes in a Moschino-branded box perfect for gifting. Santoro's signature recipe is baked for 48 hours with sourdough starter, candied Italian orange peel, raisins and Tahitian vanilla.
Panettone by Moschino and Martesana is available for pre-order on Martesana's website and in stores in Milan Duomo, Monza, Florence and Rome Tritone for 69 euros.
