Nicole Kidman takes dressing style to new heights

Nicole Kidman has not only built a solid career in Hollywood, but has also established herself as a style icon, demonstrating a particular penchant for long, flowing dresses that accentuate her slender silhouette. We think of the white lace Dolce & Gabbana gown she wore to the New York premiere of Spellbound last November, or the strapless floral pattern, also by the Italian fashion house, she wore to the Gotham Awards in early December. But, as she's shown time and again, the Australian-born actress is not only stylish on the red carpet, but also in the less glamorous - and, for us mere mortals, more accessible - realm of everyday wear. And she recently offered us further proof of this, shooting herself in an outfit that elevates the office look to the highest stylistic peaks, despite its minimalist hue and, to our delight, its easy repetitiveness.



At the special Los Angeles screening of her new film, the erotic thriller Babygirl, for which she won the Coppa Volpi at the recent Venice Film Festival and is nominated for a 2025 Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Nicole Kidman opted for a decidedly professional look that consisted of a grey suit with tailored melange trousers. The jacket was a cowl-neck model with a concealed button fastening, while the trousers, slightly longer, had an elegant cigarette silhouette.
Giving the outfit an unexpected twist was the buttery yellow turtleneck sweater , which Nicole chose to wear under the jacket - a colour choice that was anything but obvious, and in which one could recognise the touch of an authentic fashion icon. To complete the outfit, pointed black shoes were chosen, whose minimal design echoed the absence of decorative elements typical of the ensemble, emphasising its extreme formal purity.
A look by Nicole Kidman that is not only a lesson in sophisticated minimalism, but also an example of how to revive the classic blazer + trousers combination with the introduction of an unexpected element, in this case an oil yellow polo sweater.
