For an unbeatable festive look

It's time to start thinking about your outfits for the end of the year. Are you planning to celebrate with a small group? A dinner or event is sure to sneak into your diary. And when that time comes, you'll need to be armed. How do you achieve a successful holiday vision? Forgo the sequins and velvet for a classic white shirt.
In recent weeks, stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Keke Palmer and Cara Delevingne have worn white shirts (in cotton or silk) paired with pencil skirts or tailored suits. Timeless looks that contrast with the ornate gowns at year-end celebrations. It is for this reason that these minimalist outfits have the greatest effect: they contrast with the usual baroque and bring a sense of freshness. Another example is Sarah Jessica Parker, who recently wore a silk shirt with a long black coat and accessories covered in rhinestones (very Carrie of her).

The main advantage of the white shirt is its simplicity and versatility: it can be worn with almost anything. Going to a casual party? Copy Eiza Gonzalez, who wore her shirt with a grey suit. Going to a fancy dinner party? Take inspiration from Gwyneth Paltrow, who paired her white blouse with a long grey wool skirt (much like Cameron Diaz in the movie Vacation).

In other words: investing in the right white shirt is a safe bet. So next time you're banging your head about festive attire, leave out the sequins, velvet and bows and pull out your best white shirt.
