Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2026: When Home Becomes a Runway for High Fashion

“Home is where I want to be…” – Kate Blanchett’s words opened the Louis Vuitton show, which this season became one of the most emotionally resonant events of Paris Fashion Week. Under Nicolas Ghesquière’s creative direction, the Spring-Summer 2026 collection was presented in the Left Wing of the Louvre – in the summer apartments of Anne of Austria, overlooking the Seine. The scenography was a true work of art: halls bearing the marks of different eras – from 17th-century ceilings to Second Empire polychrome marble floors and 1930s walls – were enriched with an opulent décor. Highlights included consoles by Robert Wilson, vases from Hubert de Givenchy’s collection, bronze sculptures by Jean de Bologne, furniture by Georges Jacob, and Art Deco armchairs by Michel Dufet. The collection itself was a dialogue between intimacy and elegance – garments inspired by the idea of home as a personal refuge and stylish sanctuary. The softness of the fabrics, the light silhouettes, and the play of transparency and volume turned the show into a modern exercise in the French art of hospitality.

The key message of Louis Vuitton for Spring-Summer 2026: intimacy is the newest form of luxury.

Amid the exquisite décor, Cate Blanchett recited to the accompaniment of a gentle jazz melody. She read the lyrics of This Must Be the Place by David Byrne of Talking Heads – a choice that was far from accidental, as this was indeed “the place where you’re meant to be.” Nicolas Ghesquière invited the audience on a stroll through his imagined apartment:“Of course, this isn’t the Louvre,” he joked, “but this is exactly the atmosphere I wanted to share: the feeling of calm and comfort that comes from the intimacy of home.”Within this dreamlike setting, the designer built a wardrobe where ease meets glamour, nonchalance meets refinement. Known for his bold stylistic “collisions,” Ghesquière here presented a true exercise in style – a celebration of intimacy as an art of living. The collection evoked a sense of elegance intertwined with the freedom one discovers in one’s own space. The theme was daring freedom in dressing – a playful journey through shapes and fabrics, where experimentation and originality become the highest form of personal expression.

Bold combinations of knitwear treated like high-end tailoring, scarves tied casually at the waist over flowing dresses. Ruffles and damask-inspired motifs adorn skirts and shoes, while straw details transform into sequins on mini dresses. Bags evoke vanity cases and small beauty boxes. The colors are soft and soothing. Ghesquière speaks of the pleasure of being at home, dressing for oneself, and expressing individuality with ease. Behind this apparent nonchalance lies complete control – every movement, every fabric is carefully chosen. And one can’t help but think: dressing like this at home… every single day!
