This spring, PVC and vinyl shoes come in a variety of shapes and styles. At Versace, the heels have a playful design resembling a drop of water falling to the ground. Julien Dossena for Rabanne creates a futuristic look by covering the shoes with a transparent layer. Bottega Veneta, which impressed everyone at the spring show in Milan, relies on colourful decorations - one of the main fashion trends for the season.

Transparent shoes are so remarkable that some, like shoe designer Amina Muadi, have made them their signature style. It seems that transparency still has a long way to go, especially when you take into account the craze around see-through ready-to-wear, such as dresses and skirts that allow the lower body to be seen.
