The return of Calvin Klein under the leadership of Veronica Leoni

Veronica Leoni said before the premiere that she wanted to capture the original energy of the designs and give the collection a cinematic feel and realism. She started with 90s-inspired costumes, such as a grey collarless jacket and a knee-length pencil skirt. It then moves through classic items for women and men - stylish trenches, smart shirt trousers, and casual jeans. The collection ends with voluminous, draped dresses and elegant wrap jackets for evening looks.
Calvin Klein's previous designers often overlooked the sensuality inherent in the brand's minimalist style. Francisco Costa relied on strict lines, and Raf Simons didn't exactly follow minimalism. The expectation was that Veronica Leoni might also have difficulty balancing the brand's purity and provocativeness. In the fashion industry, brands such as Jil Sander, Old Céline and The Row are often referred to as the "nuns of fashion" for the austerity of their style. While Leonie's collection wasn't entirely focused on sex appeal, it definitely garnered attention.

"The thin silhouettes really intrigued me and brought a freshness to my work compared to what I had been doing. We will combine them with a short cut to the knee for a clean and elegant look," says Veronica Leoni. Great designers, like her former boss Phoebe Philo, are able to introduce new proportions and change the way we dress - and we saw something similar here. Leonie also showed a talent for creating memorable fashion accessories, and the bottle-shaped CK One evening bags were a clever and original idea.

During the preview, Veronica Leoni wore a pair of antique gold embroidery scissors tied around her neck with kitchen thread. It was not a clothing accessory, judging by the craftsmanship of the garments, which on closer inspection looked meticulous and exacting. The true measure would, of course, be taken in the shops, but Calvin Klein himself gave his opinion. In a conversation after the review, he said, "For a start, it's quite extraordinary."
