Zendaya causes a sensation at the Golden Globe Awards 2025

Wherever she goes, Zendaya manages to attract attention. She was no exception on the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2025, where she gave us another memorable fashion moment with the help of her stylist Law Roach.
The actress was nominated for her role in Luca Guadagnino's film The Pretenders, in which she stars alongside Josh O'Connor and Mike Feist. This love triangle set against the backdrop of tennis caused quite a stir in 2024, well before its premiere, when Zendaya indulged in the "method dressing" phenomenon during its promotion, amassing outfits full of stylistic allusions to her character. But on the film festival red carpet, the young woman chose to revive the Old Hollywood trend in a glamorous Louis Vuitton creation inspired by Joyce Bryant, a black singer famous in the 1940s and '50s for her performances in the nightclubs of the era. She is considered one of the first African American sex stars.

Hollywood glamour is an iconic concept that we owe to Adrian, the costume designer who shaped the silhouette of Hollywood cinema until the late 1950s. He invented Greta Garbo's sequined, sheer silhouette, but also influenced the power dress code of the 1980s, highlighting Joan Crawford's "broad-shouldered John Wayne." Marilyn Monroe, Lauren Bacall and Audrey Hepburn also had a big influence on Old Hollywood style. So it's hardly surprising that Lowe Roach chose to leave her mark by recreating one of Joyce Bryant's iconic silhouettes on the red carpet, in a silk orange ball gown topped with a bustier and adorned with a train. To complete the look, Zendaya wore Bulgari jewellery and satin shoes in the same colour as the dress.
